Ranch Style Cinnamon Rolls Recipe from Wyoming

Homemade cinnamon rolls from a 100-year-old dude ranch in the Snowy Range.

After a day in the saddle, you need good eats and that’s exactly what we got at Medicine Bow Lodge, a 100-year-old dude ranch in the Medicine Bow National Forest in Wyoming. Right beside the start of the Snowy Range Scenic Byway, at this ranch, which has been welcoming guests since 1917, owners Tim and Debbie Bishop serve up homemade, hearty fare.

On our visit to film for “Travels with Darley: Wyoming National Forests,” debuting in season three of our series on PBS, we rode along endless trails through beautiful forests and enjoyed time at the historic lodge, located alongside Barrett Creek, which runs into the North Platte River.

Debbie agreed to let go of her recipe for one of our favorite ranch treats, cinnamon rolls, so we hope you enjoy them, too!

Sprinkle cinnamon and Brown Sugar and spread evenly as possible.

Pour Butter over the top in a crisscross pattern as evenly as possible.

Place Sections on greased Cookie sheet or 2 and bake in preheated oven for 17 min at 370 degrees

3 to 4 cups powders sugar

1 table spoon Orange Juice

1 teaspoon vanilla

About 4 table spoons of water

Mix Powder sugar, orange juice, vanilla in a bowl and mix with a spoon, mix in water a little at a time, be careful not to get the icing to thin, then spread on rolls. Enjoy!
